Meet the Hosts

 

We’re Liz Kohler Brown & Maja Faber. Together we have taught over 300,000 students in our online classes on illustration, surface design, and how to work professionally as creatives. We have successfully licensed our artwork to clients worldwide, and have learned what a difference a powerful portfolio can make.

Maja Faber

Maja Faber is a Swedish surface pattern designer and online teacher, with a passion for patterns. She has successfully licensed her artwork to clients worldwide and has taught thousands of students about surface design and illustration, in her popular online classes. Maja has worked with clients like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Winter Water Factory, and Paintbrush Studio Fabrics.  She has licensed her playful patterns on everything from stationery products to kids and baby apparel, and fabric collections.

Liz Kohler Brown

Liz Kohler Brown is a designer and hand letterer based in North Carolina.  Her work is vibrant, playful, and full of detailed linework and surprising combinations. Her work has been featured on products for companies like Target, (RED), Hawthorne Supply Co., and Inkwell Cards.  Liz loves creating eye-catching designs for companies that want to bring a bold and whimsical feel to their products and publications.

Shannon McNab is an American artist and educator living in Dublin, Ireland who left her boring corporate job to become a surface designer. Genna Blackburn is a surface designer, illustrator and educator in Detroit, Michigan. Inspired by her love of plants and animals, she likes to think of her work as a playful exploration of shape and color stemming from her background as a graphic designer. As a licensing artist, she's had the pleasure of seeing her work on many fun products for companies including Target, Papyrus, Hello Bello, Copper Pearl, Little Sleepies and JIGGY Puzzles.
